The “Chargers” series talks about consumption and sustainability. Mainly because the consumer, in this case, lives in the lungs of planet Earth, the Amazon.
Manaus is the capital of the state of Amazonas in Brazil, the city is the hub for sending supplies to hundreds of villages located on the Amazon River.
The port where the pictures were taken is the port of arrival and departure of passengers and cargo. People spend days sailing on the river to get to Manaus before carrying their groceries and supplies back home.
It is possible to see in the expressions of the workers the effort demanded by the manual labor. Through the many extremely busy corridors, they spend the day carrying the boats.
